Music is a language, the purpose is connection.
The more educated you are, the easier It is to express yourself and connect, communicate, and collaborate with others through the language of music. We focus on fundamentals: reading, technique, repotoire, music theory, and fundamentals. We also never forget the FUN in fundamentals

DIVERSE
Anybody can learn, everybody has a right to learn.

Whether you are a teenager who wants to rock, a retiree who is picking up an instrument for the first time, a professional musician learning to fill in the gaps or learn a new instrument, a 5 year old deciding what instrument speaks to them, a special needs student who needs some patience, a home schooler that needs an artistic component to their education or anyone else who wants to learn Voice, Guitar, Piano, Drums, Bass, Violin, banjo, harmonica, mandolin, flute, cello, viola, music theory, reading music, improvisation, or any other aspect of the language of music, we will make sure you get the opportunity!

Individualized
We all learn differently, so we teach everyone differently.
We address YOUR goals with our ideals.

The Individualized component of our program was created to address two needs: 1, Everybody learns differently and 2. Different students have different goals. We address both of those needs with every part of our approach and teaching style. We create your plan based on your goals, and we teach you in a way that maximizes your particular learning style. Keeping age into consideration we also order the curriculum differently for each student, based on team observation.

Community
Between Students, MaKo Parents, and the MaKo Music School and the surrounding area.

Creating community between students, parents, and each other using music is a wonderful opportunity we try to foster through our groups, duo's, recitals, and other activities where we bring students together.

Outreach to the Mechanicsville area in the form of programs like the "Musical Discovery" program at Bell Creek Child Development Center, supporting local public schools by teaching their students in a way that benefits the band, holding recitals in local businesses and churches, developing curriculum for non-profits as well other endeavors meets our dream of reaching out to the community around us and benefiting it as a whole.
MUSIC SHOULD CONNECT US ALL
