The Mako Music School at Brandy Hill
The MaKo Music School was built with the intention of being the ideal lesson environment. The School has 6 class rooms. There are three large private lesson rooms, the drum room, and two group rooms. Designed, funded, and built by Mako Head Teacher Matt Koon, donations from around the country helped complete the building process. 25 students and their families came in to help paint and complete the school as it neared opening in January of 2013.

Private Lesson Rooms
We believe that rooms should be large enough for any student to feel comfortable, and large enough for any parent or guest to sit in on any lesson at any time. All lesson rooms have observation windows, internet, sound systems, microphones, recording software, amplifiers, and everything one needs for the best possible learning experience.

We have one large private lesson room (49 sq feet)
1 larger private lesson room (72 square feet)
1 even larger private lesson room with Piano (96 square feet)

Drum Room
This room was designed in consultation with MaKo Head Percussion Teacher Bubba Farmer. The ideal situation was determined and steps were taken to get there, we are pleased with the result.
We needed real drum sets and the ability to play loud and realistically, that is what we have, a room that has seen the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chair percussion of Hanover County Middle Schools (thanks To Mr. Farmer)

The Jam Room
This is where it goes down! The kids JAM. Many drum lessons take place here, and this where our groups practice for recitals. We also host local youth bands that need a positive place to practice.

The room is furnished with drum set(s), Electric Piano., Guitar Amps, Bass Amp, and P.A. System.

The Laboratory
This also the second group room, which also serves as a recording studio. We record students who want a demo and also students who are in local bands.
This room is furnished with Drum Set, Full sized Pro Keyboard, Guitar Amps, Bass Amp, P.A. System, Pro Tools 9 recording software and Apple recording set up with Focusrite Saffire and Octapre interfaces, and Yamaha monitors.
